plus multiple bonuses throughout the year Independent hotel located in Springdale, Utah is seeking a skilled person to perform maintenance duties, oversee and mentor full-time crew, and direct outside vendors.
Must be highly motivated, fit, flexible, and a self-starter with a strong work ethic.
Candidate will create a safe and attractive environment for guests and associates, maintaining all facets of the property to the highest standards of excellence expected for an award-winning hotel.
Our hotel is located on the river's edge, surrounded by the magnificent cliffs of Zion National Park where you can easily hike, rock climb, mountain bike, or simply enjoy the beauty of this unique area.
JOB DUTIES REQUIRED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Actively perform day-to-day maintenance duties on the property.
Have a competent understanding of HVAC, geothermal hot water system, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
Have the ability to troubleshoot and arrange for repairs by appropriate trades and/or perform repairs in-house regarding drywall, painting, plumbing, laundry equipment, televisions, and other issues that may arise throughout the property and in guest rooms.
Research and order parts, make work schedules, write reports, and keep accurate logs/inventories.
Be able to implement and use latest inventory and maintenance software.
Organize, train, and mentor a successful maintenance team.
Coordinate crew scheduling with the Hotel Manager.
Be available during off-hours for emergencies.
Consistently maintain grounds, including sprinklers, landscaping, and hardscape.
Clean and maintain geothermally heated pool and hot tub.
Conduct friendly and effective personal relations with hotel guests.
Know how to handle and properly use all hand and power tools.
Know how to operate heavy equipment such as a backhoe and forklift.
Perform any duties assigned by the General Manager or owners.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Two-year associate degree in Facilities Management and/or a minimum of three years of hotel or equivalent supervisory experience.
Hotel industry experience is a plus.
Willingness to be on call and work extended hours as job requires In-depth knowledge of state and local health and safety regulations Excellent computer skills Must have a current Certified Pool Operator certificate Ability to communicate well with guests and co-workers (read, speak, and write English) Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
