Masonry Worker

This Masonry Worker position is within the Maintenance Division at Zion National Park, located in Springdale, Utah. The incumbent will work with the other crew members or independently maintaining, repairing and preserving structures. Work accomplished by the incumbent includes, but is not limited to:
removal of damaged portions of walls, selecting and dressing replacement stones, repointing mortar, and replicating original architectural styles. The incumbent will prepare mortar with appropriate percentage of sand, soil, and chemical additives and apply preservative chemicals to stone and wood. The incumbent may perform other types of activities involving the preservation of historic architecture, as necessary. To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT) Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Measurement and Layout Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment Dexterity and Safety Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc (includes blueprint reading) Knowledge of materials If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
