Landscape Architect

Responsible for developing project site plans, project processes, and consulting with various divisions on project implementation. Prepares project agreements, scopes of work, cost estimates, and funding requests utilizing required NPS programs and has an in-depth knowledge of funding source requirements. Prepares schematic site plans, design development drawings, management plans, estimates, contract documents, and extensive construction drawings and specifications in coordination with the Park Supervisory Landscape Architect. Investigates and recommends methodologies, concepts and practices for sustainability and accessibility in planning and design efforts. Serves as a project manager on various sizes of projects and coordinates multi-profession efforts. Acts as either Contract Officer's Representative (COR) or Technical Representative and is responsible for on-site guidance of both contractors and Park staff during construction development Coordinates with Park Facilities Management staff in collecting and maintaining the Facility Management Software System (FMSS) database, including creating work orders for project creation, assisting in condition assessments, and providing data for location and asset creation. To qualify for this position at the GS-11 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:

Experience:
for each year short of graduation, the applicant must have had 1 year of experience under professional leadership and guidance of such character and diversity as to be a satisfactory substitute for the required education. This experience must have included original landscape design. - AND - SPECIALIZED
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
experience designing simple to complex multi-disciplinary projects such as developing or rehabilitating campgrounds, housing areas, entrance stations, visitor centers, primary roads, bridges, transportation systems, administrative development areas, parking and bus facilities, large outdoor areas or large restoration/revegetation areas; planning projects or design projects in cultural landscape settings such as National Register, or in Historic Districts or their state or local equivalent. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least 3 years (54 semester/81 quarter credits) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. You must include transcripts. -OR- COMBINATION:

Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
