Concessions Management Specialist

The Incumbent supports the Commercial Services Program by performing work within the following areas:
Serves as primary park contact for commercial use authorization (CUA) and special use permits. Applies relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, in order to process permit applications for commercial use, including filming, and special events. Plans, schedules, and conducts evaluation and monitoring of commercial filming, commercial use permitting and special events. Plans, schedules and conducts annual CUA permit holders meeting. Reviews as requested technical reports, documents, and other data. Responds to data requests (e.g., commercial services or visitor use management). Assists with studies and analyses (e.g., market and financial feasibility studies, comparability studies). Provides formal and/or informal training to employees regarding commercial services, commercial use authorization and special event permitting. Interacts with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., permit holders) to resolve differences and achieve NPS objectives. Periodically evaluates concession facilities, operations and maintenance plan accomplishments. Assists with monitoring and inspection of concession improvement projects. Collects all annual reporting information from CUA holders. Completes yearly revisions of CUA application packages. Qualifications:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
performing complex financial and operational management duties for concessions typically found in hospitality or similar industry; implementing policies and procedures relative to a business management program in hospitality or similar industry; participating in the development and implementation of prospectuses and new contracts for hospitality or similar functions. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least one full year of graduate level education (18 semester/27 quarter hours). You must include transcripts. -OR- Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.) is based on one of the following:

Education and experience may be combined to meet the specialized experience requirement. Volunteer
Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
