Mason Helper (Trails)
This Mason Helper (Trails) position is within the Maintenance Division at Zion National Park, located in Springdale, Utah. As directed by the supervisor, incumbent assists in the maintenance, repair, and stabilization of sites built of stone and mortar; mixing soils, water and amendments for mortars as prescribed; removing damaged portions of walls or other similar architectural features in preparation for repair of damage stabilization and original fabric; implementing prescribed preservation treatments (capping, veneering, re-pointing, resetting, new laying); and recording the location, time, materials, and labor involved in the treatment process. Work will be located primarily on trails that require hiking upwards of 8-12 miles to get to work sites, often requiring incumbent to carry tools and equipment to the job site.
