This Mason Helper (Trails) position is within the Maintenance Division at Zion National Park, located in Springdale, Utah. As directed by the supervisor, incumbent assists in the maintenance, repair, and stabilization of sites built of stone and mortar; mixing soils, water and amendments for mortars as prescribed; removing damaged portions of walls or other similar architectural features in preparation for repair of damage stabilization and original fabric; implementing prescribed preservation treatments (capping, veneering, re-pointing, resetting, new laying); and recording the location, time, materials, and labor involved in the treatment process. Work will be located primarily on trails that require hiking upwards of 8-12 miles to get to work sites, often requiring incumbent to carry tools and equipment to the job site. To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. (SCREEN OUT) Technical practices (theoretical, precise, artistic). Measurement and layout. Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment. Dexterity and safety. Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading). Knowledge of materials. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
